About the Network:

The California Agroforestry Network is a peer learning network dedicated to advancing agroforestry adoption throughout California. We are a diverse group of agroforestry enthusiasts and experts, including land stewards, extension personnel, technical assistance providers, researchers, staff of educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofits, and others. Mission: Our mission is to work together to advance agroforestry adoption in California through coordinated research, education, training, and peer-to-peer learning.

Agroforestry Summary

Our network meets regularly to accomplish the following key goals:

  1. Partner communication and coordination: We work to increase coordination, communication, and information sharing among partners working in the agroforestry and agroecology sectors in California, for more effective and efficient collaboration.

  2. Research: We identify research gaps to inform future research and coordinate with partners to carry out research projects.

  3. Education and outreach: We increase awareness and understanding of agroforestry in California through peer-to-peer learning, trainings, train-the-trainer trainings, webinars, and field days. We provide continuing education credits and other incentives for participating in educational workshops.

  4. Demonstration sites: We are expanding the network of high-quality agroforestry demonstration sites within California for use as both sites for educational tours and also for research.
