Willing to partner with Extension or NRCS or similar type groups to host events/demos. We are hosting a Soil Health workshop in one month with WSU Extension.
How did you get involved in agroforestry?
Work in Extension & personal interest as a Forestry/Range Management graduate.
What are your future plans?
Revitalize this old farm (been in the family since 1896) so it’s desirable for wildlife & people & maybe my kids can figure out how to make a profit with it if they want.
Can you describe any of the barriers or obstacles that you've overcome in establishing and maintaining your agroforestry demonstration site? (ex. land access, financial challenges, labor, operation costs, etc. )
The farm is so big & as a mom with 3 small kids my hours & financial resources are limited. BUT, I chip away small margins & corners at a time to expand grazing into the trees & planting fruit tree pockets in fields when I am able.
Anything additional you want to share (i.e. economics, environmental, social impacts, etc.)
