Agroforestry Practices Supported

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has collaborated for decades with farmers, ranchers and the broader agriculture industry to grow food in ways that nourish people and nature. In 2026 we are actively engaged in advancing agroforestry practices across the US through a large USDA 'Advancing Markets for Producers' project that aims to provide direct incentive payments to producers in 30 states.

The North American Agroforestry Program will focus in 2026 and 2027 on managing application and funding cycles for the AMP-funded 'Expanding Agroforestry Markets and Production' project through which we aim to disburse $39m in incentive payments to producers establishing or expanding agroforestry systems. Other projects include additional philanthropic-funded agroforestry implementation support, as well as efforts toward developing MMRV methods and mechanisms for leveraging blended finance to support agroforestry implementation.
