The primary agroforestry program at CIAS is the Fruit & Nut Compass, a free downloadable Excel decision support planning tool the enables examining the complete costs and returns over a 15 year timeline of up to 12 perennial crops. CIAS has been active in the hazelnut development initiative in Wisconsin and has broad interests and programs looking at farm diversification and perennial farming systems, especially managed grazing.
