Our organization's mission is to help families protect and keep their family land...build generational wealth and...grow "working" landscapes. Although our main focus in helping families use their land has been traditional forestry, we realized that agroforestry might be a better land use for some of our landowners. We have been exploring how agroforestry practices can best be used by our landowners and developing in-house expertise. Several of our foresters have participated in the Agroforestry Training Academy. We have worked with the USFS National Agroforestry Center and become involved with agroforestry working. We have an 88-acre farm where the farm plan is to create a "library" of agroforestry practices that we can use to improve techniques for coastal South Carolina and demonstrate to landowners the benefits of these practices.
