Caney Fork Farms is a regenerative farm in Middle Tennessee. In our pastures, fast-growing poplars reduce heat stress for livestock and help retain soil moisture. In other silvopastures, chestnuts provide both shade for sheep and a nut crop, while support species like oaks and native plums offer food and habitat for birds.

Some tree species also yield harvestable crops. We integrate chestnuts and apples into sheep pastures, and fruits like mulberries and persimmons into vegetable plots. These systems enhance shade, habitat, and nutrient cycling, while increasing the productivity, diversity, and resilience of our food production.
